Soemitro Samadikoen

Soemitro Samadikoen is the Chairman of the Indonesian Sugar Cane Farmers Association (APTRI). He has been vocal about the need for government strategies to accelerate sugar self-sufficiency in Indonesia while ensuring fair prices for sugar cane farmers. Recently, he expressed skepticism regarding the government's production targets for sugar, predicting that output in 2025 would be between 2.45 million and 2.5 million tons, due to adverse weather conditions affecting sugarcane growth.
