Sofia Butaru, a gifted 16-year-old violinist from Pitești, Romania, has gained international recognition as the only Romanian selected for the European Union Youth Orchestra, a prestigious symphonic ensemble. Her talent shone during a rigorous selection process that attracted over 1,300 competitors from across Europe. Sofia, who began playing the violin at the age of five under the guidance of her musician grandmother, has already achieved significant milestones, including being the youngest first violinist in the history of the Pitești Philharmonic. She is a dedicated student at the Dinu Lipatti Art High School and has won numerous awards in competitions throughout Europe and the United States. Sofia's aspirations include furthering her music education at the National Academy of Music in Cluj and a university in Europe.
