Sofija Logoteti, a Greek woman born in Bitola, became notable for her marriage to the Macedonian revolutionary Hristo Tatarchev, which sparked considerable controversy and opposition from both Greek and Bulgarian communities due to ethnic tensions. Despite facing societal backlash, including threats to her safety, she remained a steadfast partner to Tatarchev throughout his political struggles and later life in exile in Italy.
