Sohn Yang-young

Sohn Yang-young, also known as Kimchi 1, was born aboard the SS Meredith Victory during the Korean War in December 1950. His birth occurred amidst a mass evacuation of North Korean refugees fleeing the advancing conflict. Sohn's life is marked by his efforts to reunite with his siblings left behind in North Korea, as well as his advocacy for separated families, representing their shared experiences and hopes.
