Sonia Hill is a resident of Little Elm, Texas, who gained recognition for her pet chicken, Pearl, which was officially declared the world's oldest living chicken by Guinness World Records at the age of 14 years and 69 days. Hill hatched Pearl on March 13, 2011, and has cared for her despite the typical lifespan of Easter Egger chickens being only 5 to 8 years. Hill shared that Pearl has adapted to her old age, spending much of her time in the family's laundry room and enjoying the company of other pets, including a family cat and a kitten. Pearl's recent achievement as a record holder has added to her family's joy.
