Sonja Lí Kristinsdóttir is an emerging alpine ski racer from Iceland, competing in her first World Championship event in Tarvisio, Italy. As the only Icelandic competitor at the championship, she fared well, moving up 11 places to finish 51st in the giant slalom after starting in 62nd position. Sonja is also notable for her participation in the European Youth Olympic Festival, representing Iceland. She is the daughter of Kristin Magnússon, a former national alpine team member who competed in the 2002 Winter Olympics.
