Soon is a former diplomat and public policy expert, who has dedicated much of his career to education and behavioral economics. Born in Malaysia and raised in Sydney's Revesby, he has deep roots in his local community and recently made headlines for winning the seat of Banks for Labor, a feat many considered improbable. His victory was attributed to his extensive door-to-door campaigning and his strong ties to the electorate, where he sought to be helpful and engaged with constituents on a personal level.
