Sor María Troncatti

Sor María Troncatti was an Italian missionary born on February 16, 1883, who dedicated her life to serving the Shuar people in Ecuador. Known for her deep faith and commitment to the marginalized, she became beloved among the Shuar, who affectionately called her 'madrecita.' Troncatti died in an airplane accident in 1969 while mediating a conflict, and her life of service has led to her beatification and impending canonization by the Catholic Church.
