Spigelman is a medical professional who previously worked at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, where he headed the genetic cancer unit. He was recently in the news due to allegations of significant errors in his practice, which included deviations from established guidelines for genetic testing. Following an internal investigation, irregularities in the medical records of several patients were discovered, leading to concerns about the potential risks of incorrect diagnoses and treatment recommendations. Spigelman has since been referred to the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission.
