Srirampersad Eduard 'Eddy' Jharap

Eddy Jharap is a prominent Surinamese geologist and the founder of Staatsolie, the national oil company of Suriname. He played a crucial role in establishing the oil industry in the country during the 1980s, overcoming skepticism about the potential for oil production in Suriname. Recently, he was honored with the first copy of the GeoAtlas, a significant publication marking Staatsolie's 45th anniversary, which showcases the geological knowledge of Suriname and serves as a testament to his pioneering contributions to the oil sector.
