Standish O'Grady Roche

Standish O'Grady Roche

noble Ireland

Standish O'Grady Roche was a notable baronet and the father of Sir David O'Grady Roche. He served in the Royal Navy during World War II, where he commanded the destroyer HMS Beaufort and saw significant action, including during the second Battle of Sirte. His experiences in the war left him with lasting psychological scars, which affected his post-war life and the management of his family's estate, Aghade, which he eventually sold. Despite these challenges, he passed on the title of baronet to his son upon his death in 1977.
