Stanko Parmač

Stanko Parmač was a notable figure in the agricultural sector of former Yugoslavia, best known for leading the agricultural combine 'Neretva' in the delta of the Neretva River. Born in Opuzen, he was a distinguished teacher and a national hero, recognized for his bravery during World War II. After retiring, he returned to Opuzen and focused on transforming the region's agricultural landscape, successfully developing a factory for southern fruits and vegetables, thus reducing Yugoslavia's dependency on imports.
