Ștefan Ciobanu

Ștefan Ciobanu was a prominent politician and member of the Sfatul Țării (Council of the Country) during the union of Bessarabia with Romania in 1918. He is remembered for his passionate advocacy for the Romanian cause, famously expressing a desire to resist Soviet encroachment during the tense political climate of June 1940.
