Stefan Knauf

Stefan Knauf is a Berlin-based eco-artist known for his striking sculptures made from galvanized steel, particularly his iconic cactus forms. His work interrogates the relationship between nature and culture, drawing attention to the colonial histories embedded in common houseplants. Growing up in a rural environment near Munich, Knauf developed a deep appreciation for nature, which profoundly influences his art. He recently gained media attention following a solo exhibition that explored the irretrievable nature of ecosystems altered by human activity.
