Stefan Schnell

Stefan Schnell is a linguist based at the University of Zurich, known for his work on endangered languages. He has dedicated over two decades to documenting the two critically endangered languages, Vera’a and Lemerig, on the island of Vanuatu. His efforts aim to preserve these languages for future generations, emphasizing the cultural significance and knowledge embedded within them. Tragically, Lemerig became extinct recently with the passing of its last speaker, Isso Vores.
