Steindór played a significant role in introducing rímur to younger generations and collaborated with notable artists such as Erp Eyvindarson and Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson, as well as the band Sigur Rós. He released several works, including the 2001 single 'Rímur' with Sigur Rós and the 2002 album 'Rímur & Rapp' with Erp Eyvindarson, blending traditional poetry with rap.
