Stelios Papadakis-Piatas

Stelios Papadakis-Piatas is the president of the football club Doxa Platanes in Crete. He recently became known for his efforts to manage a crisis involving the temporary accommodation of 500 migrants who were rescued off the coast of Crete. Despite facing significant opposition from local residents, he advocated for calm and understanding during a turbulent situation that highlighted the challenges of integrating displaced persons into local communities.
