
Suddhodana
Suddhodana was the king of the Sakya clan and the father of Siddhartha Gautama, who later became known as the Buddha. He ruled over the small kingdom of Kapilavastu in ancient India and is known for his efforts to provide Siddhartha with a life of luxury, hoping to shield him from the harsh realities of the world. Despite his attempts, Siddhartha ultimately renounced his royal status to seek enlightenment.
