Süheyla Altmışdört was a prominent figure in Turkish music, born in 1926 in Trabzon. Known as the 'hocaların hocası,' she dedicated her life to educating thousands of music students, including notable artists like Bülent Ersoy and Ahmet Özhan. After completing her studies at the Istanbul Municipal Conservatory in 1954, she became a revered teacher and choral director, notably leading the Istanbul University Classical Turkish Music Choir from 1963 onward. Throughout her career, she played a crucial role in establishing conservatories across Turkey and contributed significantly to the Turkish music scene, including hosting radio concerts for many years. Altmışdört passed away, leaving a lasting legacy in the world of Turkish music.
