Sujinda Kraprayoon
General Sujinda Kraprayoon was the 19th Prime Minister of Thailand, serving during a tumultuous period in the country's political history. Born on August 6, 1936, in Thonburi, he rose through the military ranks and became a key figure in the 1991 coup d'état that ousted Prime Minister Chatichai Choonhavan. His administration is notably remembered for the political crisis known as the 'Black May' of 1992, which resulted from public protests against his government's attempts to maintain power. Sujinda's famous phrase 'sacrificing integrity for the nation' encapsulated the controversial decisions he made during his leadership. He passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on June 10, 2023.
