The incident occurred at a hotel in Butwal during the election silence period, where Kharel accused UML activists of entering the hotel and attempting to disrupt their activities, alleging that they were engaged in electoral malpractice. Despite the tensions, police stated that while a scuffle broke out, there was no direct attack on Kharel himself.
