Sulemana Abdul Samed

Sulemana Abdul Samed, affectionately known as Awuche, was Ghana’s tallest man, renowned for his extraordinary height of 7 feet 4 inches, which made him a local celebrity in northern Ghana. Diagnosed with gigantism stemming from Marfan syndrome, Awuche faced numerous health challenges throughout his life, including recent complications leading to his untimely death at the age of 33. His larger-than-life presence not only brought attention to his hometown of Gambaga but also fostered a sense of identity within the community. Awuche was remembered as a generous and kind-hearted individual, beloved by many, who continued to inspire others despite his physical struggles.
