Sun Suiying, born on January 16, 1922, in Guangzhou, was the granddaughter of Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of modern China. She was the daughter of Sun Ke, Sun Yat-sen's eldest son, and spent her early life moving between Guangzhou, Shanghai, and other cities due to political turmoil and war. After studying at Mills College and Wellesley College in the United States, she became a secretary for the Chinese delegation at the United Nations. She was deeply connected to her family, especially to her grandmother Song Qingling, and was actively involved in cultural preservation efforts in her hometown of Zhongshan, for which she received several accolades. Sun Suiying passed away at the age of 103.
