Svajūnas Airošius

Svajūnas Airošius is a former Lithuanian basketball player who gained fame for his remarkable dual career as a professional athlete and firefighter. Born in 1971 in Klaipėda, he began his basketball journey in the newly formed Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) with the team Klaipėdos 'Neptūnas' in 1995. Known for his exceptional shooting skills, Airošius became one of the league's top scorers, winning the LKL sniper competition twice. Balancing his responsibilities as a firefighter and a basketball player, he captivated fans and media alike. His career, however, faced challenges as he sought opportunities in higher-tier European leagues, ultimately leading to a retirement from basketball in 2006. Two decades later, he opened up about his experiences, shedding light on the unique challenges of juggling both professions.
