Syed Ibrahim, an Auckland tourism operator, was in the news for his significant involvement in drug trafficking during the Covid-19 pandemic, having imported over 1.5 tonnes of pseudoephedrine, a precursor for methamphetamine, which led to a prison sentence of nearly 15 years.
