Syed Monirul Islam

Syed Monirul Islam is a politician from Chapainawabganj district, Bangladesh, who has been active in the Awami League party. He studied at Jahangirnagar University and became involved in local politics with the support of his elder brother, former DIG Nurul Islam. He was elected as the mayor of Shibganj in the 2022 elections, serving as the organizational secretary of the local Awami League committee. Recently, he has been in the news due to being wanted in a case of sabotage, leading to his current status as a fugitive.
