Sylva Akrita
Sylva Akrita was a prominent Greek politician and former member of the PASOK party, born in 1928 in Thessaloniki. She gained recognition for her courageous involvement in the anti-dictatorship movement during Greece's military junta, which led to her imprisonment for ten years. Akrita was a trailblazer for women in politics, being the first female MP in the history of PASOK following the 1974 elections. She was also the widow of politician Louki Akrita and the mother of Elena Akrita. Akrita passed away at the age of 97, leaving behind a legacy of activism and political involvement.
