Székely Tamás
Székely Tamás was a prominent Hungarian engineer best known for his contribution to the Hungarian State Railways (MÁV) as the head of the Radio and Device Development Group. He made a significant impact on public transport communication with the creation of the D-A-H-A-Fisz-G-Fisz melody in 1972, which became the basis for the MÁV's unified passenger information system. He also designed the DG-1, an innovative electronic device without moving parts, enhancing the auditory experience at train stations. Székely's work not only transformed the way announcements were made but also established a memorable sound that resonated with generations of travelers. He passed away at the age of 100, leaving behind a legacy that combined engineering genius with melodic creativity.
