Tai Kōiwi

Tai Kōiwi is a courageous teen from Rotorua who has been battling a rare and aggressive bone cancer known as osteosarcoma, which metastasized to her lungs. After facing significant challenges, including the amputation of her arm and multiple rounds of chemotherapy, Tai's story gained attention when she was given weeks to live. However, her journey took a hopeful turn when she was introduced to rongoā, a traditional Māori healing practice. With the support of her family, community, and alternative medicine, Tai has shown remarkable resilience, recently experiencing significant improvements in her health.
