Taimana Soames

Taimana Soames is a 29-year-old inmate currently serving time for his involvement in a violent prison riot at Waikeria Prison, which occurred between December 2020 and January 2021. Recently, he was sentenced to an additional 14 months in prison for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, following an assault incident within the prison. Despite his troubled past, including a difficult upbringing, Soames has expressed remorse for his actions and is seeking rehabilitation opportunities, including a spot in a Māori Focus Unit.
