Takahashi Hisashi

Takahashi Hisashi is the fifth-generation president of Takazawa Shoten, a traditional candle-making business located in Nanao, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. The company specializes in producing plant-based candles, particularly rapeseed oil candles, which are celebrated for their warm, gentle light. Following the devastating Noto Peninsula earthquake in 2022, which resulted in significant damage to the company's premises, Takahashi has been actively involved in the recovery efforts, including setting up a temporary store to continue serving customers and preserving the traditional craft of candle-making.
