
Takashi Xatori
Takashi Xatori is the Ambassador of Japan to Uzbekistan, who is concluding his diplomatic mission after being appointed to the position in December 2022. Born in 1961 in Tokyo, Xatori graduated from Waseda University in 1986 and began his career in the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs the same year. Prior to his role in Uzbekistan, he served as the Consul General in Vancouver, Canada. During his tenure, he has emphasized the strengthening of strategic partnerships between Japan and Uzbekistan, highlighting the growing collaboration in trade, investment, education, and culture. Xatori has noted Uzbekistan's increasing appeal to Japanese tourists and businesses, particularly due to its Silk Road heritage and hospitality.
