Taneisha Gayle

Taneisha Gayle was a promising young athlete from Edwin Allen High School, known for her contributions to the school's track and field team. At just 15 years old, she was a key member of the medley relay team that triumphed at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships. Tragically, Taneisha passed away on September 12 after falling ill during a training session, leading to a heartfelt farewell from classmates, coaches, and family members during her funeral service. Her coach, Michael Dyke, remembered her as a quiet and humble talent with a bright future in athletics, particularly in the long jump and 100 meters. The loss of Taneisha has profoundly affected her teammates and the entire school community.
