Tapio Lehtinen is a Finnish sailor known for his participation in the Golden Globe Race. In the 2022 edition of the race, he faced a harrowing experience when his boat began to sink in the Southern Ocean. Lehtinen managed to escape on a life raft and spent nearly 24 hours at sea before being rescued, showcasing the extreme dangers and unpredictability of solo sailing challenges.
