Tarsh Kemp was a dedicated Māori politician and community leader, serving as a Member of Parliament for the Auckland seat of Tāmaki Makaurau. Known for her resilience and leadership, she played a pivotal role in guiding the Manurewa Marae through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. With over two decades of experience in the health sector, Kemp was also recognized for her contributions to street dance and youth development, earning the New Zealand Order of Merit in 2021. Despite battling aggressive kidney difficulties, she remained committed to her political duties and her community until her passing, leaving behind a legacy of advocacy for Māori rights and youth empowerment.
