Te Rauparaha

Te Rauparaha was a notable Māori chief and war leader of Ngāti Toa, renowned for his strategic prowess during the early 19th century. He played a significant role in the migration of his iwi from Waikato to the lower North Island and is often remembered for his resistance against colonial land appropriation and for his efforts to secure land for future generations.
