Tee Tran

Tee Tran is the owner of Monster Pho, a Vietnamese restaurant in Oakland, California. Originally a Vietnamese boat person who arrived in the U.S. in 1989, Tran's family relied on SNAP benefits during difficult times. In response to the current government shutdown and the potential loss of food assistance for many families, he has started providing free meals to children on SNAP and discounts for their parents, drawing from his own experiences of hardship.
