Terecita Frías

Terecita Frías is one of the three Frías siblings, aged over 60, who lived in extreme poverty in the 27 de Febrero sector of the Dominican Republic. Following the demolition of their previous home by the Ministry of Housing, Terecita, along with her brothers Agustín and Radhamés, was forced to seek shelter in a construction site. Despite repeated attempts to obtain government assistance for basic needs, including food and utility subsidies, support has not materialized. The family's vulnerable situation has garnered media attention, highlighting the systemic challenges faced by the elderly in need.
