In 1970, she became the first woman to be declared a Doctor of the Church, a title given to those whose teachings have significantly influenced Christian doctrine. Teresa's writings on prayer and spirituality are highly regarded, and she remains a beloved saint, recognized as the patroness of numerous causes, including the sick and those seeking grace. Her body was recently exhumed and displayed, astonishing experts with its remarkable preservation after nearly 500 years.
