Teresa Palomino

Teresa Palomino is a celebrated Peruvian teacher, choreographer, and cultural icon known for her significant contributions to criollo and Afro-Peruvian culture. With a career spanning over six decades, she founded PERÚ Unión Santa Cruz, an institution dedicated to nurturing youth through folkloric dance. Palomino has held prominent roles, including directing the Ballet Folklórico of Lima and playing a crucial part in establishing the Festival de Arte Negro de Cañete, which showcased Afro-Peruvian talent. She is being honored with a tribute titled 'Teresa Palomino, ella tiene la culpa' at the Teatro Municipal de Surco, celebrating her rich legacy in the arts.
