Theopista Masenge

Dr. Theopista Masenge is the President of the Paediatric Association of Tanzania (PAT) and a prominent paediatrician advocating for improved neonatal care services in Tanzania. She has highlighted the critical issue of infant mortality in the country, where approximately 51,000 newborns die annually, primarily due to inadequate medical facilities. At the 2nd National Child Health and Welfare Congress in Arusha, she emphasized the urgent need for modern neonatal care units and better training for healthcare workers to significantly reduce these alarming death rates and enhance child health outcomes.
