Theresa Hak Kyung Cha

Theresa Hak Kyung Cha was a pioneering avant-garde artist and writer known primarily for her experimental work 'Dictée,' which blends autobiography, biography, and ethnography. Born in South Korea in 1951 and later immigrating to the United States, she became a significant figure in the Bay Area art scene through her innovative explorations of language, identity, and cultural heritage. Tragically, her life was cut short in 1982, but her work continues to resonate and inspire contemporary artists.
