Theresia Agustina Sitompul
Theresia Agustina Sitompul, commonly known as Tere, is an Indonesian contemporary artist born in Pasuruan in 1985. After completing her Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Yogyakarta, she gained recognition for her sculpture work, particularly her installation titled 'Teman Mencari Teman' (2008), which reflects her experiences during the art boom in 2007. Tere's artistic journey has evolved to explore themes of feminism and the representation of women's bodies in her recent work, 'Je Me Vois #1-9' (2025), which critiques societal perceptions of lingerie. She is currently pursuing her PhD while also teaching at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts in Surakarta.
