Dr. Thi Quốc Huy, 35, has returned to Vietnam after over a decade of research abroad, with a vision to advance the development of 2D materials, which are fundamental to the next generation of semiconductors. A graduate of the University of Natural Sciences in Ho Chi Minh City and a postdoctoral researcher at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he aims to build a research team at the Advanced Technology Institute (IAT) to train Vietnamese students in advanced material research. By leveraging his expertise, he seeks to contribute to Vietnam's semiconductor industry, which is currently lagging behind other nations. Huy's innovative work includes the development of a clean method for fabricating 2D materials, which has garnered international recognition and patents.
