Thomas Cavendish

Thomas Cavendish was an English explorer and privateer of the late 16th century who is best known for his circumnavigation of the globe from 1586 to 1588. Inspired by Francis Drake's earlier voyage, Cavendish's expedition was notable for its speed and for being the second successful circumnavigation of the Earth. His journey contributed to the growing interest in exploration and trade routes during the age of discovery.
