Thomas Ouko

Thomas Ouko is the Kisumu County Government's Tourism Chief Officer, recognized for his significant contributions to Kenya's tourism sector. Recently awarded the national tourism lifetime achiever award during the Kenya Tourism Excellence Awards 2025, Ouko has over twenty years of experience in tourism service and policy shaping. His leadership has been crucial in enhancing governance structures, developing investment strategies, and promoting community-based tourism models. Ouko has held various influential positions, including acting director of Tourism and Industry and national coordinator of all county tourism directors. His work has positioned him as a pivotal figure in East African tourism development, advocating for sustainable tourism practices and community empowerment.
