Thorn

Thorn is an emergency department staff member at Whangārei Hospital, who recently expressed deep concerns about the overwhelming pressure faced by medical staff due to overcrowding in the emergency department. With the ED operating at 150% capacity and patients waiting up to six or seven hours for care, Thorn fears that someone could die while waiting, echoing a tragic incident at Waikato Hospital. Thorn has been vocal about the exhaustion and burnout experienced by staff, leading to increased sick leave and emotional distress within the team.
