Thumani Calata

Thumani Calata is the daughter of Fort Calata, one of the Cradock Four, anti-apartheid activists who were abducted and killed by apartheid-era security forces in 1985. Born just two weeks after her father's funeral, she has spent her life grappling with the loss of her father and the impact of apartheid on her family. Recently, she testified at a renewed inquiry into the killings, expressing her deep emotional pain and longing for a connection with her father she never had the chance to know.
