Titilopeyemi Olaniyi

Titilopeyemi Olaniyi is a 32-year-old widow and mother of two from Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. After the tragic death of her husband in 2020, she sought better opportunities abroad to support her family. In 2023, she embarked on a harrowing journey to Libya, hoping to find work but instead faced dire conditions, including a five-month imprisonment marked by mistreatment and neglect. Her story highlights the challenges faced by many Nigerians in search of better lives abroad, as well as the urgent need for improved conditions and support systems for vulnerable individuals at home.
