Titus Popovici, born on May 16, 1930, in Oradea, was a prolific Romanian screenwriter and author known for his significant contributions to cinema and literature. After graduating from the University of Bucharest's Faculty of Philology, he made his literary debut with the prose volume 'Povestiri' and the novel 'Străinul' in 1955. Popovici gained recognition in the film industry with adaptations of classic works, including 'Moara cu noroc' and 'Pădurea spânzuraţilor', both of which were nominated for awards at the Cannes Film Festival. His collaborations with director Sergiu Nicolaescu resulted in popular films like 'Dacii' and 'Mihai Viteazul'. He continued working until his untimely death in 1994, leaving behind a legacy marked by creativity and storytelling.
